Dr. Joan T. Rhee-Yoo

Dr. Yoo is incredibly grateful and delighted to announce that she has purchased Dr. Katherine McGrath’s practice. She is humbled and excited to continue the patient-centered approach that makes this practice truly stand out.

Dr. Yoo is known for being a perfectionist and consistently receives compliments from other dental professionals when they check her patients – they notice the attention to detail, lifelike anatomy, high quality margins and finishes, and the obvious care that went into the treatment. She is known for her warm bedside manner and treats her patients like family, and is a firm believer in the golden rule of “Do to others what you would have them do to you”.

Dr. Yoo was born in Dallas Texas, but her family moved around a lot as a child, including South Carolina, South Korea, and Colorado. Dr. Yoo attended The Ohio State University for her undergraduate education, then received early admission into The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, graduating as one of the youngest in the Class of 2009. After graduating dental school, Dr. Yoo was part of a pilot program for an expedited post-doc training, working alongside a former OSU GPR director of 20+ years. The program was an excellent opportunity since the training offered 1-on-1 mentorship, took half the time of a conventional residency, and offered double the compensation. The scope of her training included managing Trauma/Infection/Emergency cases, extensive Oral Surgery (full mouth extractions with alveoplasty), and Endodontic cases (root canals).

As a more “seasoned” dentist with almost two decades of experience, Dr. Yoo now focuses more on Restorative treatment with an emphasis on Minimally Invasive Dentistry. She has extensive experience in Cosmetic cases, CAD/CAM technology, Full mouth reconstructive cases, Clear aligner therapy, Implant placements and restorations, Extractions, Root canals, Botox muscle management, etc. Dr. Yoo understands the power of Continuing Education and devotes much of her time to being a lifelong “learner”.

When she’s not practicing dentistry, Dr. Yoo loves being a wife, mother to 3 children, and serving at her church.
